About fading…

Slowly moving the lips. Vibrating to the heartbeats…
This is how I say all the things that can’t be true tonight. This is me saying a sweet goodbye-lullabye.
I’ve been doing so much for us that, in a way, I’ve faded into you. Gently closing in for sleep, trying to become one…believing in the mutual understanding. It’s not about the faithful departed that the words are born in my head, but it is because of the stare and the silences that so slowly reach up to tears.
It’s strange how you know me so well that you know who’ll be there.
You know when to shine, and when to devour light. This is your time. You directed the sea; you were the direction in the shipwreck. But there’s only so much a man can take; so much we can speak of; so many times you can be blinded by this shroud.
Yes; the moon, the stars up above… all for this moment… all for this starry night. The sweet smile that shines as we wave goodbye; to the darkness…
To the abyss of forgetfulness…
…strange you never knew…
